Jim has been the most used travel agent by
Lafarge Corporation for several years and I
personally have been using ALTA Travel to do
Mr. David Carroll's (Vice President of
Environment, Health and Safety and Public
Affairs), Mr. Mike McNamara's (Vice President,
HR Cement) and Mr. Peter Cooke's (Executive
Vice President Cement Division) travel for
Lafarge Corporation for 2 years.
Our corporation employees treat their expense
accounts as if they were their own and finding
the best deals at all times is of greatest
importance to us. Also, due to the nature and
executive level of the people I arrange travel
for, last minute changes are usual events and
most likely to happen than not. These changes
often include literally last minute
International flight changes as well.
When I started with the company two years ago,
I did try other travel agents and also cost
savings on the Internet. It did not take me
long to realize the speed, quality, accuracy
and cost-effectiveness were at a maximum using

price to any location I have searched for

And finally, I would like to mention that as a
corporate customer we have a lot of changes
every minute, and sometimes the changes cancel
3 times in a day only to return to the
original travel schedule which can seem
annoying and time consuming yet, ALTA Travel
is very friendly and courteous dealing with
these situations and always makes sure that
myself and others who use him in Lafarge
(there are many department assistants who use
him exclusively), feel comfortable calling him
8 times in 1/2 hour to add change or ask one
more question. On top of this, ALTA Travel has
donated the top gift in our Company United Way
Charity Drive in the 1999 campaign.

their main travel planner. I chose ALTA Travel
Service approximately 10 years ago to provide
my company's travel needs.
I compared service and no other travel company
provided the level of service that ALTA
provides. Back in the days of paper tickets,
they would routinely meet us at Dulles with
ticket in hand, rather than have us pay the
extra for at-counter tickets. Now with
electronic tickets, we don't see them much,
but the excellent service continues.
ALTA is very responsive to the needs of the
executives of my office who travel. If they
are stuck in a delay, the executive can call
them directly to rearrange their flights
rather than endure the long lines everyone
else is waiting in. If they can help, they do
- above and beyond the call.
